Under Nigerian Law, all Tenancy Agreements are governed by both the Tenancy Agreement and the relevant Tenancy Law in the State where you reside.

You should therefore read your tenancy agreement to see under what circumstances, your Tenancy can be prematurely terminated.

If you do not have a signed Tenancy Agreement, you must therefore resort to the Tenancy Law of the State where you reside. And most Tenancy Laws requires that a tenancy agreement, whether oral or written, can only be prematurely terminated by notice or by a fundamental breach of the tenancy agreement.

Where you have not committed a fundamental breach of your Tenancy Agreement, whether such Agreement is oral or written, and your paid tenancy has not expired, it is recommended that you urgently contact a Solicitor to assist you with correspondence, and if necessary litigation, to protect your Tenancy rights.

Best wishes.
