Very serious injuries! In comp law, you have en election of benefits depending on what wages you can earn in returinig to work, what ratings are assigned by treating physicians, what future medical care is necessary, etc. You have a right to a second opinion with a doctor of your choice. Usually, the adjuster will not tell you everything you need to know. For example, you may need to file Form 18M to preserve your right to future medical care, you may need retraining for lighter work, you are entitled to copies of all of your medical records from the adjuster, you may have been entitled to private meetings with the doctor if an insurance company RN was assigned. Check our site for more info: ncworkcomp.com Call the Industrial Commission for a copy of your file. 919-807-2501 Good Luck! George
