debt

my debt is out of control. even with debt management programs. I am overwhelmed. I was thinking of bankruptcy but i know the laws have changed. How So? and what if you have property?

Generally, the change in the laws affects the process of getting bankruptcy relief, and not the actual relief available. The vast majority of would could be done to help debtors before can still be done today.

If you have property, you and your attorney will need to determine the current market value of the property, and then use the appropriate exemption laws to protect what can be protected. Whatever is not protected can be taken by the Court. Most people do not lose any property in a bankruptcy, but you will want to make sure of that before you file. Talk to a good attorney.
