Legal Question in Bankruptcy in North Carolina

How do I recover from a business that will file a petition for bankruptcy relief

How do I recover from a business in North Carolina that is about to file a petition for bankruptcy relief?

I Ordered, placed a deposit and paid in full for furniture from a company that just sent me a letter notifying me that they had ceased all operations.

They further advised me to seek legal counsel in the matter.

What should I do now?

You should speak with a local bankruptcy attorney regarding this matter as soon as possible. Certain deadlines expire very quickly. There is no quick answer to your question and additional facts are needed. Good luck to you. Generally, one should file a proof of claim. An adversary proceeding may be advisable depending on the business and what kind of claim you have.
