Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in North Carolina

Concerned Parent (dress codes)

Is it legel to demand elemtary school students (only boys) to wear their shirts tucked in? If it is not done they will be sent home. I thought we had the right to dress the way we want if it is not not affenssive to others. It seems bysis to allow the girls to wear their shirt tails out but the boys have to wear their tucked in. Is this legal?

Re: Concerned Parent (dress codes)

Yes, there is nothing offensive about the rules imposing a dress code. What is questionable is the act of sending the studnets back home.I believe this can be contested as an oppressive policy.
