Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in North Carolina

I lent a family friend some money. He paid most of my money back except for $80. When I asked for my money he refused to give it to me, and when I asked him to leave my home he stole my house key. I had to call my landlord to get my locks changed and the cost was $100. I wanted to know if I could file a civil case in court for the repayment of my $80, and the reimbursement of $100 for the lock change fee?

You can file a case to sue for $80.00. It will cost almost double that to file. The likelihood that you actually collect it is low. Its not worth it. It is very speculative that you would get a judgment for the $100.00.
