Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in North Carolina

Neighbors/Business

My parents neighbors are running a business out of their garage/building in their backyard. THe fumes are so bad that their little one cannot even go outside to play, nor can they open the windows. We have contacted teh city and they sent someone out and the neighbor said he only paints one car every 6 months, which is a lie and we have tapes and pictures to prove it. He also refused her to see the premises. She then asked if the city could use our home/premises to conduct an investigation, of course we said yes but there has been nothing done! My parents have called continuously and are losing their patience. What can be done before matters get worse?

Re: Neighbors/Business

I strongly recommend contacting your local community mediation center. They will sit both sides down and hash out what is going on and try to help you find solutions that will work for both of you. This could resolve things very quickly.

Plus, you don't need a lawyer, but most places will allow either or both of you to have one present.
