Legal Question in Constitutional Law in North Carolina

My mail lady is saying she will suspend our mail because she has to back up after putting the mail in the box.My mail box is free and she is able to reach it no problem:however she must back up to leave. I live at a dead end street and parking is limited. The only thing I can do is park in my front lawn to keep her from having to back up. I was just wondering what my rights are?

Call your local postmaster. If this is the letter carrier's own decision, the postmaster might overrule her. My educated guess (and that's really all it is) is that individual letter carriers have little or no discretion to make decisions like this, and that they need much stronger reasons -- like, say, a dangerous dog -- to stop delivering mail.
