searching property

undercover police posed as maintenance men and asked if they could enter a property without a warrant. they proceeded to make an arrest for drugs. is this legal?

most likely it is legal...the authorities can act on a ruse (a lie) to get p/c to search or consent to search...this is a consent case it appears...however, there may be a scenario where you can make an argument...something that i would simply have to evaluate...don't you have a lawyer already? you should ask he/she about this...
