A judgment is a judgment. It can be enforced. I don't understand how the judgment will affect future loans though. Is there something in your current student loan agreement regarding this? I don't handle a whole lot of student loans but I cannot think of how this would jeopardize this unless there was some provision in your student loan agreement indicating that a prior default on a student loan would prevent you from getting any further loans and/or trigger a duty to pay back the funds that were already disbursed.

Don't believe debt collectors! They lie all the time. Pay an attorney to review your student loan documents and information.
