Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Carolina

Good morning. I am in need of assistance for my 16 year old brother who I believe is being unlawfully detained in the state of South Carolina for a crime he honestly did not commit. He is being tried for attempted murder and my family and I don't know what to do. He's been held in jail now for 3 months and his court date keeps getting pushed back. Furthermore, our confidence in the legal system is low due to a history of slow response time from legal counsel as well as the court systems. We'd like to know how to help free my brother and if we can receive legal counsel from outside of the state of SC. Thank you.

South Carolina is even more of a 'good 'ol boy' state than North Carolina, where who you know and how much money you have are more often than not the determining factor in how much justice you get. So the only realistic way your brother is likely to get out of jail on an attempted murder charge is to hire the best criminal defense attorney. You can hire from outside SC but ultimately who ever you hire must be licensed to practice law in SC. Best of luck.
