Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Carolina

we are in nc, where my boyfriend has been indicted for 13 obtaining property by false pretense and 2 exploiting the elderly. he has never been in any other trouble before. he has a signed contract with the lady stating she is satisfied with the work that was done and the price she payed. however she snuck around from her boyfriend who is much younger than her and when he found out he went to the police. he hasnt been tried for the crimes yet and we havent gotten a lawyer. what kind of punishment are we looking at here.he is a class 0 when it comes to being in trouble in the past and the charges are class H felonys and the exploiting elderly would be class G

what could happen to him in court? we have been told mostly probation because he has never been in trouble. he was only indicted for 4 of the felonies, the rest should be dismissed. what do you think will happen? -
