Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Carolina

I was raped approx. 14 years ago and was a minor at the time. I reported the rape, had a rape kit done, the police investigated and charges were filed. The offender was released on bail and I was told it could be a long time before our court date would be set. During this time I moved out of state and didn't realize that I would be unreachable by the D.A. To the best of my knowledge the case was thrown out as, I, the victim was not present. Could this be revisited and possibly re-charge the offender. It is my understanding that there is no statute of limitations on this and since there was never a trial, it was just dismissed, can face the charges now ? Just in case this info is needed, we are in Mecklenburg Co., NC and I was about 15, he was in his 20's.

Contact the police and the DA and let them know you are here and want to prosecute. I think the DA can still prosecute him.
