Legal Question in DUI Law in North Carolina

Aiding And Abetting dwi

I was recently pulled over for speeding and given a breathlzyer and the reading was.12, but the cop decided to just give me a speeding ticket and told me to let my friend Bill drive. Bill happens to get pulled over and gets a DUI, a few miles later. He is only 20, does the fact that the only reason he was driving was because the cop told me to let him drive have any effect on the case.

Re: Aiding And Abetting dwi

No. He didn't have to drive despite the fact that the cop told him to do so. He could have refused. You would have likely received the DUI in that case. The fact that the cop told him to drive will have no impact on his DUI.

Good luck
