there aren't any statutes of limitations on DWI's (or any other kind of traffic violation), if this is a really old one you are talking about then you won't be able to renew or get your license back until you take care of it, if it is a recent DWI you've just gotten and you don't go to court then a warrant for your arrest will be issued and served on you if it's in the state of NC and you live in NC
