Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina

Alimony

I currently pay spousal support to my ex-wife and to the best of my understanding of North Carolina law one of the conditions is she is not to cohabitate with a man or will loose benifits. She has been cohabitating for over a year now yet My attorney keeps telling me we can't get on a court docket to have a judge hear our case due to backlog. She is getting married in 2 weeks yet I still have to pay? What can I do?

Re: Alimony

You have a lawyer so most lawyers are going to be very reluctant to correspond with a person whom they know is represented. You mention spousal support rather than child support. Ask your lawyer what

would happen if you just quit paying. Don Gillespie
