Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina

Lack of visitation

My husband has not been allowed to see his 12 year old daughter regularly in about 2 years. His x (never married) refuses to make time in her schedule. He has court papers filed about 10 years ago (when they set up child support and visitation) that states he is supposed to see her the 3rd Sunday of the month and encouragement from the judge that he see her more than that. What can we do to enforce the visitation. He has also been paying his child support faithfully.

Re: Lack of visitation

If your husband has a court order granting him visitation and his X does not obey the order he can have her held in contempt. He should go to the magistrate where the child lives and bring his court order.

If you would like information about how to take care of this and any future legal problems please e-mail me and I will send it right out. E-mail me at: [email protected]
