Depends on what kind of settlement but generally speaking you would not be entitled to a portion of his settlement for things like inheritance or personal injury. I'm actually more concerned about why you have filed for divorce several times? Are you filing for divorce yourself? Because once is enough even if you couldn't locate him and by the way separations are not required to be filed. Hire an attorney next time - it often works out to be cheaper than trying to do it yourself. There are several firms here in NC including ours, that have flat rate fees of around $400 which would cover everything for a standard divorce and you would not be required to go to court or travel to the attorney's office.
