Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina

NC State law says that you have to reside in the state 6 months prior to filing for divorce. I separated from my husband, no legal separation, and have been living in SC for the past 2 years. I am now ready to file for divorce. What do I need to do, do I need a NC lawyer, and what about the law that says I had to reside there for 6 months prior to filing?

You are not eligible to file in NC. Talk to a SC divorce lawyer.
