Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina

In raleigh, north carolina, what does a minor need to get married? & if they need parental consent, does it have to be their legal guardian or can it just be one of their parents? & if the minor is marrying an illegal immigrant what would he need in order to marry the minor if he is of legal age (18)?

If you are under 18 but 16 or older you need parental (or guardian) permission to marry. If you are under 16 but 14 or older and pregnant the court can grant permission but rarely does because its a stupid thing to do. If you are under 14 - you just plain can not get married in NC. Hopefully, your parents or guardian are smart enough to not allow you go through with this stupid idea I am sure the court is smart enough not to allow you. And don't get all offended either - there is no possible set of circumstances where this is not a completely stupid idea. If you are under 18 - you are a child. Physically you're still growing, your skull hasn't even fully formed yet. Mentally you are still developing as a person so as to hopefully become a happy productive member of society. Getting married at this stage of your life is - stupid! Don't do it. If it's true love, it will wait and endure until you are ready.
