Legal Question in Medical Leave in North Carolina

Legal Rights to Re-Enter Home

I was just released from Re-Hab for AlcholAddiction & my spouse of 20 years does not want me back into our home, which is owned by her mother, can they legally keep me out when all of my personal possessions are in the home. I have never physically abused her, but did verbally abuse.

Re: Legal Rights to Re-Enter Home

Yes, because it's your wife's mom who owns the home. The fact that you have possessions in there does not change who has the rights to the property. If you just want to get your personal items, and you cannot persuade your wife to give them to you, you could call the police to go there with you or call a local attorney for advice. Good luck.
