Process of notice to creditors

My moyher inlaw passed away a few

months ago. How do I post a legal

notice, wait the proper months and

claim property?

Go to the county courthouse to the probate office-- most of them have pamphlets with all the information about what you need to do to become executor of her estate. Also, most major newspapers are familiar with the legal notice requirements and have forms to get the notice to creditors published for the right number of weeks. If you cannot figure it out, consult with an attorney that specializes in wills/probate law. Good luck!
