family medical leave
why do you have to use family medical leave if you have sick leave to use to cover your being sick? I was told i would have to use family medical leave alone with my sick leave in order to get paid while out of work. My understanding of family medical leave was you request this after you run out of sick leave to cover you. This is an illness for myself.

Sorry, but the employer usually gets to decide how to allocate sick/vacation time and FMLA time.
