Legal Question in Immigration Law in North Carolina

I130

My parents are permanent residents who filed I 130's for my sisters 7 years ago. The girls were already here on a visitor's visa, and we did not know they had to leave until someone recently told us they were not allowed to be in the country, as it would jeopardize their ability to get numbers. Does this mean they have to leave? Will they be allowed back considering how long they were here without us knowing this was not allowed?

The answers to your questions depends on many different factors. From the facts you describe, your sisters appear to have remained in the US beyond the time authorized by the US Immigration Service. Your sisters have a few options available to them. I am happy to speak with you or your sisters to discuss their immigration matters in more detail. Our office is located in Chapel Hill, NC. Feel free to review our website to learn more about our immigration practice. We can schedule either a telephone or an in-person initial consultation.
