Illegal Spouse

How do I, a US citizen by birth, help my husband--who came into the US illegally--become legal at least being work authorized or permanent resident?

If he entered the U.S. without inspection (illegally), then you'll need to apply for his lawful permanent residence along with a waiver for unlawful presence in the U.S. (assuming he's been unlawful for over 6 months in the U.S.).
