Legal Question in Immigration Law in North Carolina

I am a Ukrainian citizen, and going to receive my temporary green card in August or September. I am planning to go to Italy in January, but I have to fly there from the United states. Can I do that? And, I know that I have to open a visa in Ukraine, because I am not an American citizen, right?

Thank you for you answer.

If you are a permanent resident and in possession of a valid passport you can depart and reenter the U.S. without issues except those listed in INA 101(a)(13)(c).
