If you have been sued, then you should notify your insurance company, and they will hire an attorney to represent you. In all likelihood, they have not really sued you yet, but they will be making claims against you (and your insurance company). Your insurance company will handle this, and you do not need a lawyer (and you certainly don't need to sue yourself). If you do get sued (which you will know because you will likely receive the papers by certified mail or the sheriff), then certainly notify your insurance company (and you may hire an attorney if you want to).
