Legal Question in Employment Law in North Carolina

My employer offers 6 sick days a year, but every time you use one, it counts as 1/2 of an occurrence. After so many occurrences regardless of what they are for, you can get fired. So essentially, they automatically give you 3 occurrences every year plus what ever else you tack on, for tardiness or performance issues. Is that legal?

Unfortunately as North Carolina is an at will work state, they can legally do this. Essentially, they are saying use your sick days and that is it or you are allowed 2 other days off...it si unfortunately legal.
