Legal Question in Employment Law in North Carolina

my father recently had some medical issues and I shared this information with my supervisor just in case I needed to take some time off and the next thing I know my co-workers know about my fathers issues that I did not want anybody to know about. Is this legal?

Unfortunately, employers do not legally owe confidentially to employees...so there is nothing legally that can be done..although it was in bad taste for your supervisor to reveal this information.
