Legal Question in Employment Law in North Carolina

is this legal?

i'm an emergency room nurse and have 2 weeks left of my 90-day

probation period. I have been called by management and basically was told ''you don't fit in here, you are a great nurse, we just don't think you fit in with our nurses'' nobody has complained to me directly about anything i have done wrong- only positive feedback from my peers. Can they fire me based on ''you don't fit in''??? is this legal? they have no docomentation to prove anything done wrong on my part as far as job performance is concerned.

The MD's have complimented me and patients give nothing but positive remarks on my nursing skills. please advise...???

Re: is this legal?

Yes, sorry, it is legal. NC is an at-will employment state. They don't even have to give you a reason for termination. If there is no proof of discrimination that is illegal under certain statutes, you do not have a claim against the employer, unfortunately. Good luck.
