Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in North Carolina
Displaced unwillingly by job, can I break my lease without a penalty?
I am an airline pilot and I maybe involuntarily laid off or displaced to another city for my job. I informed my apartment manager of my situation and they told me I would have to pay a penalty. I responded that I cannot afford to become unemplyed and pay an extra $550 dollars, their only response was for me to refer back to me rental agreement concerning break of lease. Any advice
