Landlord issues

The property manager told another tenant that I had reported them which is not true. The tenant was stealing power and water. The tenant was arrested. The property manager told them that I was the one who reported them. As a direct result, I was threatned and my son. I left for safety reason. The house has been broken into, and I am still responsible. A message from a member of the family of the other tenant said that the house was broken into with specific details of the damage done. I had turned my cell phone off and I called it to check the messages and within five minutes there was a call to my mothers house where I had called from, from the neighbors house. I have moved and need to get my belongings, the sheriff told me that he could not assist. WHat can I do about this and the landlord?

Your facts are a bit unclear as written. However, if you have abandoned the property at issue, then you would need your landlord's cooperation and/or a court order to re-enter the premises at this point. Either is not terribly difficult to obtain, especially if you have personal belongings still therein, and an unreasonable amount of time has not passed since you vacated the premises.
