Legal Question in Legal Ethics in North Carolina

Pest control

We signed a contract with a pest control company for termites. We have a lot of damage to the house and outer building. Company cancelled one contract with out control in either place. His insuraance company wanted an estimate of visible of damage, which was submitted. Contractor's estimate ewas $24,000.00. They only wanted to pay 2800.00. We need to know what type of attorney we should contact and where?

Re: Pest control

Your legal issue is somewhat unclear. I would be curious to know whether the termite company allegedly caused the termites (i.e. by failing to detect or prevent them) or simply failed to get rid of them once they were found. In any event, you probalby need someone with some litigation knowledge. At a bare minimum you can go through the yellow pages for a lawyer, and ask for referrals. It's also good to talk to friends and family for referrals. You want someone who will be diligent. The fee will also be an issue. It could be handled on a contingency basis, or hourly.
