Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in North Carolina

veterans administration medical malpractis

I am writing for a friend who recently was admitted to the fayetteville n.c. VA medical hospital.

he was diagnosed with cancer this week but the va knew about this problem 8 months ago an did nothing about it.

he is interested in knowing, can the veterans administration be sued for malpractice because of there neglect, on not taking imediate proceduresin correcting the cancer before it spread.

the docotrs at the va medical center have admitted that it was there mistake an there is nothing they can do for him because of the time lap.

a responce would be nice so i can help him out.

p.c. i am a retired service member an theis problem is a continuing thing at this medical center if we can do something to help out other retired service members we are in big trouble

The Veterans Administration can be sued for the negligence of its medical providers. A claim must be filed under the Federal Tort Claims Act within two years of the negligence. The real question in your friend's case is did malpractice occur and what, if any, damages resulted from the malpractice. Only a doctor can answer that question.
