Legal Question in Military Law in North Carolina

medical settlement

Husband is military. He has been in for around 9 yrs. He is getting out april 24, 2004 for medical reasons. THe military is giving him a large settlement. We have been married since sept, 1999. We have been separated since June, 2003. We have 2 children together for which he doesn't pay support for. He does help me with diapers, bills, etc, if he approves of what I need the money for. I am unable to pay all my bills, I have 4 other children at home. Am I entitled to any of his medical settlement? My children and I could really use the money.

Re: medical settlement

You need to see an attorney pronto. There may be a way for you to obtain some of the funds being paid to your husband. But you need to secure an attorney and you'll need to address the issues quickly. Contact your local bar association for referral to an attorney who handles domestic law issues.
