Legal Question in Personal Injury in North Carolina

On 11/7/2014, I attended a work conference in Atlanta, Ga. Leaving a company-sponsored event that evening, a highly intoxicated co-worker fell and knocked me down. The company provided an open bar for the duration of the 5 hour event. I sustained a fractured patella and torn meniscus. My company denied me workers comp. I plan to sue my company for negligence. However, my employer/corporation was recently acquired by another corporation. Ultimately, which company should I pursue for civil damages, the old or the new company?

1 Answer from Attorneys

We would need more facts to answer this question but this is really a question for your attorney and not something you need to be concern with unless you plan to represent yourself in which case the answer is likely irrelevant because if you are asking a question like this, the odds of you completing a successful law suit are less than slim and none. So you best bet is to hire an attorney and let them deal with it. Best of luck!
