Legal Question in Personal Injury in North Carolina

There is a gentleman who just lost his son in a car accident back in August 2009. There were three people in the car (his wife and her brother) the only person died was the son. The father who does not speak English expects that something more happen. The medical reports and DMV report labels his death as an accident. The father wants more information. What should he do?

Whether he has a claim depends on whether someone was at fault, or negligent, in causing the accident. His son's estate may have a claim for wrongful death, but the estate would have to pursue that claim (and you may have to set up the estate). The term "accident" does not necessarily mean much in this context (i.e. the death report). He should contact an attorney to discuss the matter further to see if he has a claim.
