Hearsay

can a statement made by my son before his death about the ownership of his boat be admitted in a civil action where his signature on the title had been forged before his death without his knowledge. I only became aware of it 2 months after his death

Well this is something for a judge to decide, but NCRE 804b3 might be such an exception to hearsay, that allows such statements in, but since I am not a judge I really couldn't tell you one way or another. It just depends on who's side of the fence you are on regarding this argument
