Legal Question in Personal Injury in North Carolina

What is the holdup?

Wife hurt in car accident. It has been a little over a year. Lawyers office handling this seems to be dragging along. We got all copy records in two days which they said was a hold up. Now that the lawyer has all bills, what is the typical time until we recieve the first offer for settlement?

If the attorney has the records and bills, and if you have reached maximum medical improvement, then it does not have to take more than a couple of weeks for the lawyer to make a demand.
