Legal Question in Personal Injury in North Carolina

power of attorney

Involved in car wreck, other persons' fault. Their ins. co. wants to settle, since my car totaled. They

want me to sign a power of attorney form giving them the right

to get my car title transferred to them. I've never heard of this before, and am leary of doing so, since I don't know what else they would use it for. I'm having some medical problems since wreck, not sure of how to get them to pay for me to go to doctor, and afraid if I sign POA, that I may lose any hope of them paying my medical bills now or later, because they may sign my name stating I have no injuries. Please help, I need to get this taken care of asap.

Re: power of attorney

The power of attorney is fairly typical in that situation, and should pertain only to the vehicle. If you have serious bodily injuries, then you should consult with an attorney who can provide you with some guidance on these issues.
