Legal Question in Personal Injury in North Carolina

can pro-se plaintiff contact defendant that has lawyer

Can pro-se plaintiff send letters or call defendant that has a insurance co. lawyer. What is law that says I can't. Defendant lawyer got a protective order for no contact. I read that I can contact defendant since I am pro se and get no cooperation from defendant lawyer.

If the Defendant's lawyer really obtained a protective order, then of course you must respect that order. I have never, however, seen a real order in this situation. Absent a real Order (i.e. signed by a Judge) then the general rule would be that you would not be prohibited from contacting the Defendant directly.
