Legal Question in Personal Injury in North Carolina

Should I search for an attorney?

My daughter (she 15 now) had her leg trapped in the passenger car door when a woman backed into us without looking (12/20/05). Her medical bills are approximately $3,000 with an impairment rating on her leg of 5%/overall rating of 1%. Would it be worthwhile to hire an attorney to represent her/us. I was told by a local attorney that it would be hard to find someone to since the bills were only $3,000. The insurance has offered her $5,000 in a structured settlement, plus medical reinbursement. Is this a fair settlement? Should I look for an attorney? If so, any suggestions?

Yes. You need to do this quickly before the statute of limitations runs out. That settlement sounds low to me, especially if she is permanently impaired. Please email me directly and I will be glad to recommend an attorney that I know in your county.
