Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina

I am living in a home that I do not own. Can a creditor place a lien against this home because I live here or do I have to own the house for a lien to be applied against me?

Many Thanks, G

No one can place a lien on a home unless they did work on it. If you hired someone to do work on the property, there may be circumstances where they can place a lien on the property. You will need to consult with an attorney.

If you are talking about a case where there is a judgment against you and they are they are trying to collect - they can only go after assets you own.
