Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina

We have a loan with Vanderbilt mortgage company be have been making payments late but not more than 15 days. We have never not made a payment in inside that month. We are behind this month a little more and have told them that we will make the payment before the date of the 30 days but the have threaten that they will not take the payment. We have talked with them and they offered a re-something mortgage. not refinancing. basically putting a payment at the end of the mortgage. I would like to know my legal rights in dealing with this mortgage company. Can they do anything? please help.

You should have an attorney review your documents. Typically if you are late, you should have a chance to cure the default by paying everything you owe up to that point (e.g. the missed payment, late fees and any additional payment that becomes due).
