what can I do about a neighbor's ivy overgrowth onto my property?

I've already asked them to come remove it to no avail.

You can exercise self-help to the extent that the ivy is on YOUR property. Do not trespass on their property. Do not spray tri-ox or round-up and kill all the ivy either.

Before you do this, write a letter to the neighbor and inform them that this is their final opportunity to remove the encroachment and that if is not done in one week, you are going to do it. Keep a copy of this letter for your records. Take a picture before you trim and after so they cannot say that you killed all the ivy.

If you protect yourself, it will make it very hard for them to sue you.
