Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina

I have been paying my landlord twice the rent that he has been paying for the house, but then I found out yesterday that he has not even been paying the rent, and I came home yesterday to find out the the house is going into foreclosure, can I sue my landlord for all the rent he wasn't paying?

Why are you paying the landlord twice the rent? What does your lease say? I do not know why you paid more than you were required to, but you paid voluntarily and you cannot sue your landlord unless there was some type of fraud or deception involved.

Your issue now is with the mortgage company. After foreclosure, you will have a set time to leave the property. When will the foreclosure sale occur? When will your lease expire? What kind of deals can you make with the mortgage company? Do you want to buy the home and can you afford it? Maybe the mortgage lender will forcelose and sell the property to you. It will be a win-win for everybody.
