Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina

POWER of Attorney

Can I give my spouse a special power of attorney? We reside in New York State but involves property in North Carolina. Only my name is on the deed/buyers agreement as we were not married at the time. We have the property up for rent but some signatures are needed. My wife has more job flexibility than I do. Can we use a power of attorney drawn up in NY for property located in NC.

Re: POWER of Attorney

A Power of Attorney can be signed, acknowledged, notarized and witne... in NY, AND recognized in another State.

However, a POA for NC real & personal property, should be pursuant a NC POA, document, which can probably be downloaded or obtained from a NC cite or another legal document site, like Blumberg. com

Good luck,
