Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina

i purchased a truck from a private seller in nc. he gave me the title which was still in the persons name he bought it from in ca. i went to register and they sign the title wrong and i cant get ahold of anybody to get it fixed. what can i do?

This has nothing to do with land and is not a real estate question.

Talk to the DMV. There are procedures if you cannot get the signature of the owner, but your best bet is to track down the previous owner as well as the original owner in California. People can be found through the use of people finder services. You may need a bill of sale from the prior owner as well as an affidavit.
