Legal Question in Tax Law in North Carolina

Where does it say?

I have been doing some research and it doesn't say anywhere in the tax laws that a citizen of the U.S. earning an income in the U.S. has to pay Federal income taxes. It does state that nonresident aliens and foreign corporations have to though. In brief, the fed. income tax is a foreign tax. As a U.S. citizen do I have to pay a fed. income tax? If so, please point out where it says so. Please explain.

Re: Where does it say?

Have it your way: No, you don't have to pay taxes. Happy now?

By the way, you don't have to live here, either. If you don't like it here, and don't like the protections, liberties and opportunities offered by this great country, please do the rest of us a favor and go somewhere else.

But if you are going to live here, you have only two choices -- you can pay your fair share, or you can be a parasite living off those of us who love this country and support it -- you know, us suckers who participate in the political system, who offer and sometimes willingly give our lives serving in the military, law enforcement or the fire service, who work to educate each others children, who staff the medical facilities to heal our sick and elderly fellow citizens, and who do all the other things that cannot be done without collecting taxes to pay for those services. Its your choice. But don't justify a selfish effort to avoid paying your fair share by looking for a legal loophole that even a three toed sloth is smart enough to know doesn't really exist. At least be intellectually honest about what you're doing. And don't waste our time asking stupid rhetorical questions. If you really wanted to know, its not real difficult to find the Internal Revenue Code or the myriad judicial decisions refuting every outrageous, self-serving, self-delusional tax protestor argument ever advanced. And if you choose to follow the lead of the self-centered wackos who espouse this tripe, you may be the beneficiary of some of those taxes the rest of us pay when the IRS Criminal Investigation Division and the U.S. Attorney's Office arrange for you to take an all expense paid vacation at Club Fed. Have fun.
