Legal Question in Traffic Law in North Carolina

Radar Readout Laws

I have heard that police are required, by law, to allow an alleged traffic offender (speeding) to view the radar readout before issuing a ticket. Is this (or some variant of this statement) true?

Re: Radar Readout Laws

They can but they are not required to. The reason is who is to say that the radar speed was not taken from another car.

A little known fact is that if you take a speeding ticket to to trial, you can be convicted on the testimony of the officer alone, as the officer can "pace" your speed simply by following you.
